About This Opportunity


The Buzz Team is a group of professional in our community that is committed to providing skill-based support to Manny Cantor Center’s Marketing & Communications team. Volunteers leverage their knowledge and skills to participate in this working group that strives to increase visibility of the center’s programs within the community and strengthen and grow partnerships with local business and community organizations.  The Buzz Team plays a critical role in spreading the mission and message of MCC to constituencies that will benefit.


  • Digital Marketing Gurus
    • Google Adwords & FB ads
    • Social Media Strategy
    • SEO, Landing Pages, Tracking
  • Content Creators
    • Collect and write member and volunteer stories for blog (“Humans of MCC”)
    • E-blasts, e-newsletters on upcoming programs and events
    • Content templates for blog, email and social 
  • Community Ambassadors
    • Target Group Research
    • Create Master Community Alliance List
    • Communicate upcoming programs to relevant targets
    • Flyering in neighborhood about MCC programs and events
  •  Data Wizards
    • Create Master Ad Performance Tracking Sheet
      Analyze and Optimize Data Tracking


  • Commit 1-5 hours each week/5-10 per month to volunteering (varies with role and your schedule)
  • Regular communication with MCC Marcom staff to keep each other updates
  • Attend MCC Buzz Team meetings and events (quarterly)


  • Professional in a Marketing & Communications related field
  • Outstanding written and verbal communications skills
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Apps, Social Media, Online Advertising
  • Passion for MCC’s mission and a familiarity of our programs (or a willingness to learn)


  • Build your professional skills, while learning about non-profit Marketing & Communications
  • Network with other professionals in your field and in non-profit sector
  • Ability to volunteer on a flexible schedule, from home
  • Tracking of your volunteer hours for your company, school or affiliated group
  • Discounted membership to MCC Fitness Center (12 volunteer hours/month to be eligible


  • Completed volunteer application
  • Phone screening with Volunteer staff
  • In-person interview with Marketing & Communications staff
