About This Opportunity

Duration: We offer flexible schedule with a commitment to planning 3 events. 

The Kings Bay Y provides special community-wide events held indoors, and outdoors.  These events are free of charge and give community members the opportunity to find out about programs, engage in a cultural Jewish experience (Purim, Hanukkah, Israeli Expo), while participating in family oriented games and activities.  These events are held annually. 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Highly motivated, take initiative in problem-solving, have positive attitude
  • Hard working, punctual, reliable, well organized, possesses good work ethic
  • Detail oriented, quick learner
  • Skilled in professional protocol and able to maintain professional appearance
  • Able to follow oral and written instructions
  • Able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and clients
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Publisher).
  • Confidence in working under pressure with short timelines
  • Prior experience strongly suggested, but not required

Responsibilities:

  • Help ensure the positive experience of everyone at events
  • Perform tasks assigned by event planning committee
  • Assist in the planning and production of smaller cultivation and staff events
  • Compile invitation lists and execute all aspects of invitation mailings
  • Solicit in-kind donations for all events
  • Communicate with outside vendors, including caterers, designers, printers, photographers, and venue managers
  • Assist Program Director on an as-needed basis
  • Special Projects, as assigned
