Volunteers needed to help with food pantry set up and food distribution in Lower East Side.

About This Opportunity

Met Council supplies Kosher food to pantries throughout the five boroughs. Volunteers are needed to provide support to the senior center at the UJC of the Lower East Side food distribution program. 

Volunteers will participate in a brief training followed by helping with the set up of the food pantry, signing in food recipients, making bags of food based on client's Pantry Menu Checker, and carrying packages of food to individual clients. This is a unique hands-on opportunity and volunteers will leave feeling with a sense of purpose and value to the seniors and staff.

 

Please remember to wear closed toe shoes.
